The innovative architect has envisioned not just one, but multiple of these stunning slabs, each on a different floor of a 3-story building, meticulously creating the illusion of a tree sprouting within the very heart of the structure.

What makes this even more intriguing is the origin of this massive oak slab. It’s not just any wood; it’s a part of an extraordinary inventory of surplus wood that was painstakingly salvaged by us from the mystic Seaport museum. This inventory is a treasure trove of spectacular reclaimed wood, each piece carrying with it a rich history and a story waiting to be told.

This historic Chesapeake Bay buyboat, once a vital link in the region’s maritime heritage, has been given a new lease on life thanks to our contribution.

The MILDRED BELLE, originating from Odd, Virginia, played a crucial role in the Chesapeake Bay’s history, serving as a “buyboat” that facilitated the seafood trade between local sailing vessels and market. Today, she’s in the caring hands of the Living Classrooms Foundation, where she continues to educate and inspire nearly 100,000 students each season.

From her base in Baltimore to her extended visits in Washington DC, the MILDRED BELLE offers unforgettable day trips and camping experiences for students in grades 4-12. 🌳 Once upon a time in Hopedale, Ma in 1999, The Jarmak Corporation discovered the foundry building of the Draper Mill complex outside of Worcester, Massachusetts. These walls were once home to the largest manufacturer of textile looms in the country! 22 years later, we went back to reclaim hundreds of thousands of board feet of Spruce decking, Maple factory flooring, and old-growth Southern Yellow Pine timbers from the now defunct factory buildings built in 1881. For over a century, the Draper Corporation operated on this site, providing products and services for thousands in the local community. Now, we’re helping to preserve the history of the area by reclaiming these heritage-rich timbers and passing them on to the next generation of builders and designers. Recently, we visited Burgundians, a restaurant that used this historic wood to create their amazing space! While there, they spotted an excess of wood in a field. Fast forward to now, we have purchased an incredible collection of historic wood!

The Constitution Oak is the real treasure. Sourced in Charlestown Mass at the former Naval Shipyard, it consists of 150 pieces of live oak and white oak beams that were submerged in saltwater ponds during the mid-1800s.

These beams have a story to tell, filled with New England history!

The weather has been beautiful the past few days.

The weather has been beautiful the past few days. Perfect timing to spend some time on the Thomas mill cutting some 5/4 #quartersawn #reclaimedsouthernyellowpine for a stair tread order. The grain is phenomenal on these beams; they were actually taken from our “junk” pile we made from a few dump loads of pine we got from a Chelsea, MA job recently. What we couldn’t sell off as beams we’ve cut into this quarter sawn material and have not only reused almost all of the lumber we acquired but we managed to turn it into something far more valuable than it was. 🫶🏼
